Dog Food Recalls

In short

Use this list to check whether a dog food or treat has been recalled. Each entry links to the FDA announcement, which has the lots and dates. We copied the FDA list on Oct 10, 2026; recalls change, so confirm on the FDA page before you act.

General information, not veterinary advice. If your puppy is unwell, seems in pain, or you are unsure, call your veterinarian or an emergency animal hospital. Read our medical disclaimer.

Dog food and treat recalls listed by the FDA

28 recalls

Source: FDA recalls, market withdrawals and safety alerts, animal and veterinary entries that name dogs, puppies or canine products. Copied Oct 10, 2026. This is the part of the FDA list that mentions dogs, not every recall in history, and it is not live. Check the FDA page (opens in a new tab) for today's list.

What to do if you have a recalled product

  1. Stop feeding it and keep the bag or package so you can read the lot number and best-by date.
  2. Compare them with the FDA announcement. Recalls often cover only certain lots.
  3. Do not donate it or give it to another animal. Ask the store where you bought it about a refund.
  4. If your puppy has vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy or other signs of illness, call your veterinarian and tell them what it ate.
  5. You can report a pet food problem to the FDA through its pet food complaint page (opens in a new tab).

Recall alerts by email

We plan to send recall alerts by email once the mailing list is switched on. Until then, the FDA page above is the primary source, and we link every entry to it.
